Thinking Outside the Box — Imaginative Hollowware Vessels

There’s a wide array of forms and shapes that can be created as imaginative vessels, from traditional boxes to free-form sculptural pieces. In this three day class at CJS, we will design and build hollowware vessels, fashioned over original forms of your own creation.

Jeff will teach you to use multi-cycle curing and layer-building techniques to construct various vessels with lids. Surface ornamentation and finishing will be discussed as time allows.

This exciting class is scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Sunday, July 27th, 28th and 30th, 2023 from 10 AM to 5 PM each day. Saturday, the 29th will be free workday, as Jeff doesn’t work on Saturdays, due to his religion. You can use Saturday to catch up and work on your pieces, if you choose to. The fee is $450 with a small supply fee to be paid directly to Jeff (for oddments he will bring!) This class was originally scheduled in 2020 but was a casualty of the pandemic. We are delighted to have the opportunity to have it in 2023, now that everyone has gotten vaccinated.
Note: This class requires a good, solid working knowledge of polymer clay and so, is an advanced class.
