Bonnie Bishoff comes to Creative Journey Studios June 1-5, 2022 from Brunswick, Maine. She has been doing virtual classes during the pandemic but is venturing out to return to our classroom to present a five-day class, Creating a Statement Necklace from Start to Finish. Bonnie will help you create a fantastically original necklace with individual components that have been composed to please the eye AND move comfortably on the body. You will create a variety of effects using metal wire as an armature and linking system that will work with unusually shaped components. Bonnie will teach you to use a dress form, to mock-up designs and fit them to the complex curves of the body. The class fee is $650 (no lab fee).

Learn how to create individual, one of a kind components with unique shapes and varied surface treatments. The class will explore Bonnie’s favorite use of marquetry, translucent layering, carving and added textures. Bonnie will demonstrate how to arrange and connect necklace components so they move easily on the body. The class will examine cohesive design, balance and repetition, metal armatures for linking, choosing materials for longevity, clean crisp design and original closures as well as polishing and finishing. No previous metal experience is necessary, but a good working familiarity of polymer clay is required (not a beginner class!) Soldering is not required.
